Reta Imogene (Simpson) Vaughan, 91 of Fairfield, IL, left this world to meet her Eternal Heavenly Father, February 13th, 2026.  Reta was born to Edna Bernice (Wood) and Wallace Wright Simpson on July 20, 1934. She married Noel James Vaughan, Sr., on June 10, 1951. Together they worked hard and raised their family for 74 years on the Vaughan family farm while attending Pleasant Grove Church.

She is survived by her husband, Noel and their 10 children, Noel J. (Diana),  Rodney (Dawna), Becky Marsh, Stanley (Diane), Scott (Angela), Tanya (Mark) Wells, Gaylord (Angie), Brian (Amy), David (Angie), Michelle (Brian) Taylor. Also, 38 grandchildren, 75 great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren. Her sister, Esther Meeks, brother-in-law, Richard (Pat) Vaughan, sisters-in-law, Pauline Peverly of AZ and Carol Ann Vaughan of CA and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Reta had her hands busy with the farm and family for many years.  Those that knew her always felt her love, especially through her cooking!  She said she had no “favorites”, but she made each one of us feel as though we were hers!

Reta also loved three grandchildren who were waiting for her in Heaven, Ryan James Vaughan, Logan Matthew Kreiter, and Scott Michael McDannel. Also, her brothers, Tuffy, Edwin, and Harlan Simpson; and sister, Kay Etheridge.

Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at First Baptist Church in Fairfield, Illinois , with visitation from 11-1 PM at the church.  Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
