FAIRFIELD COMMUNITY HIGH SCHOOL BOARD SET TO MEET FEBRUARY 19TH

The Fairfield Community High School Board will hold its regular monthly meeting on Thursday, February 19th at 6:00 p.m. in the FCHS Study Hall. The agenda includes routine business, financial matters, committee reports, and discussion of school planning for the upcoming year.

The meeting will begin with roll call, followed by the approval of open and closed session minutes from the January 15th regular meeting and the January 12th special meeting. Board members will review financial reports covering district accounts, the imprest fund, activity account, petty cash, and journal entries, as well as approve the payment of bills.

Visitors will be recognized early in the meeting, and two student groups will be highlighted during the Student Focus segment. Committee updates will be provided, including a report from the Transportation Committee on fuel bids.

Superintendent’s Report items include a revenue-to-expense report, updates on CD rates from local banks, scheduling of upcoming committee meetings, review of the 2026-2027 school calendar, and discussions on school improvement and strategic planning.

The principal will also provide a report to the board. No old business is listed on the agenda for this session.

In new business, the board will consider action on fuel bids for Fiscal Year 2026 and review the proposed 2026-2027 school calendar.

A closed session is scheduled to discuss personnel matters, including appointment, employment, retirement, or dismissal of employees, as well as collective negotiating matters between the board and its employees. This will include discussion of contract extensions for the principal and superintendent.
Upon returning to open session, the board will consider action on the resignation of a paraprofessional, the employment of a long-term substitute, the hiring of a paraprofessional, and the appointment of co-sponsors for the Sportsmen’s Program.

The meeting will conclude with the right to revert to a prior order of business if necessary, followed by adjournment. Members of the public are welcome to attend.
