FAIRFIELD GRADE SCHOOL BOARD REVIEWS DISTRICT REPORTS, APPROVES KEY PERSONNEL CHANGES, NEW NORTH SIDE PRINCIPAL NAMED

The Fairfield Grade School Board of Education met Tuesday night to discuss district operations and approve several key personnel actions.

Superintendent, Kristina Gardner presented a Revenue and Expense Report noting the district has received 69% of its anticipated revenue and expended 59% of its FY26 budget. The Food Service Report showed a strong balance of $255,489.38. State bus inspections were recently completed, according to the Transportation Report.

The Board approved the FY27 school calendar. In facilities news, bidding for the upcoming roof project will begin on February 17, with a pre-bid meeting set for February 24 and bid opening on March 3. A landscaping project and quote for Center Street were also discussed.

The district is in the process of revising and updating administrative job descriptions, with a focus on administrative roles this month.

In action taken following closed session, the Board accepted the resignations of Amanda Hicks as bus driver and April Smith as North Side principal, effective June 30th. Marybeth Eckleberry was appointed as the new North Side principal, effective July 1st. The Board also approved administrative contracts for FY27.
