HIGH SCHOOL BOYS BASKETBALL:
On Tuesday night, the Fairfield Mules Boys Basketball team were on the road versus the Flora Wolves. In the Freshman game, the Wolves powered past the Mules 51-27. The freshmen were led in scoring by Caden Best with 19 points. In the JV matchup, Fairfield outlasted Flora 45-36 behind 19 points from Michael Barner. The varsity contest was a physical, back-and-forth matchup between the two long-time rivals through the first 3 quarters. The Mules were able to pull away in the 4th quarter, outscoring the Wolves 18-7 in the final frame, for a 55-39 victory. Fairfield’s Jake Easton led the scoring with 14 points. With the victory, the Mules clinched the Black Diamond Conference title outright. The Mules will be back in action Friday against Carmi-White County for their regular season finale and Senior Night at the Mule Barn.

The 32-year-old missed 10 games last season with collarbone and hamstring injuries. He finished with three touchdown grabs over eight games with the Buccaneers and is slated to become a free agent next month. Evans and the Bucs can also work out an extension at any time.

ESPN reports Tony Clark resigned after an internal investigation revealed he had an inappropriate relationship with this sister-in-law. Clark has held the post since 2013 and has led the MLBPA through two collective bargaining agreements. It comes as CBA negotiations are set to take place as the current agreement expires on December 1st.

(Denver, CO) — The Nuggets are mourning the death of former head coach Doug Moe, who died Tuesday following a long bout with cancer. He was 87. Denver released a statement in a social media post that called Moe a “one-of-a-kind leader and person” that was responsible for spearheading one of the most successful and exciting decades in team history. The one-time NBA Coach of the Year led the Nuggets from 1980-to-1990. He went 628-and-529 over 15 seasons as a head coach.

The New York native missed most of his final high school season with an ankle injury and also sat out last summer’s Peach Jam due to an injury. Davis has now landed a top-15 recruit in four consecutive recruiting classes.

(Milan) — Team USA added to its total medal count on Tuesday in Milan. The US earned silver in the men’s speed skating team pursuit final after finishing second to host nation Italy. Forehand finished second in the competition, while fellow Americans Troy Podmilsak and Konnor Ralph finished just off the podium. Team USA ends the day with six gold and 21 total medals.

Meanwhile, Sweden cruised past Latvia 5-1 on Tuesday to advance. The Swedes haven’t lost to the U.S. at the Olympics in men’s ice hockey since 1960.
