Myla Hearle from Cisne Middle School claimed victory at the Regional Office of Education #20 Multi-County Spelling Bee held Tuesday night in Carmi. Myla secured the win by correctly spelling the word “eligible.”
With this achievement, Myla advances to the Area 6 Regional Spelling Bee, set for March 12th at Rend Lake College. Myla had previously won the Wayne County Spelling Bee to qualify for the regional event.
Sagan Dunn of New Hope Grade School, the Wayne County Spelling Bee runner-up, also competed in Tuesday’s event but was eliminated in the second round on the word “parallel.”
