Fairfield Police along with Fairfield Fire Department and Wayne County Ambulance personnel responded to a two-vehicle accident Tuesday afternoon just before 3:30 p.m. at the intersection of West Main Street and NW 7th Street.
According to authorities, one vehicle ran a red light at the intersection and struck another vehicle, causing it to roll over and land on its roof in front of Uniquely Rustique. The impact also sent one of the vehicles into the base of the traffic light in front of CVS Pharmacy, toppling the signal light to the ground.
Both drivers were transported by Wayne County Ambulance to Fairfield Memorial Hospital. Their names and conditions have not yet been released.
The Fairfield Police Department continues to investigate the crash.
