The number-ten Illinois Fighting Illini picked up a second straight win with a dominant 101-65 win over USC from L.A. The Illini led by as many as 39 points in the victory. Andrej Stojakovic led the way with 22 points. Illinois improved to 13-and-3 in Big Ten play and 22-and-5 overall. The Illini visit UCLA on Saturday.

>>Paul Allen Estate Puts Seahawks Up For Sale

(Seattle, WA) — The Seattle Seahawks are officially for sale. There was reporting before the Super Bowl that the team would be sold, but it was denied by Paul Allen’s estate. ESPN reported the team could sell for a record seven or eight billion dollars. Winning the Super Bowl could add value. The process of the sale will continue during the off-season. NFL owners need to ratify the sale. Paul Allen’s estate requires that the team be sold.

(Kansas City, MO) — The Chiefs have created some much-needed salary cap space by restructuring the contract of franchise quarterback Patrick Mahomes. ESPN is reporting that Kansas City is converting 54.5-million-dollars of his 2026 salary into a signing bonus which lowers his cap number to 34.65-million dollars. The move created over 43-million in cap space by restructuring his deal for the fourth consecutive year. The 30-year-old initially signed his 10-year, 450-million-dollar deal with the Chiefs in 2020.

(Undated) — Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice is facing more legal issues. An ex-girlfriend of the Kansas City wideout has filed a civil lawsuit in Texas alleging he repeatedly assaulted her during an 18-month span from 2023 to 2025. Dacoda Jones alleges that Rice strangled her in December 2023, and also exhibited a history of abusive behavior through the relationship in Texas and Missouri until July 2025. She is seeking more than one-million-dollars in the suit that was filed Monday. Rice was suspended for six games last season for violating the league’s personal conduct policy, stemming from another off-field incident.

(Undated) — The 49ers are expanding their international schedule for the 2026 season. San Francisco has been named the home team for a regular-season game in Mexico City next season. The game is set to be played in December. The Niners are already set to play the Los Angeles Rams in Australia in Week One. The team previously played in Mexico City in 2005 and 2022. The Mexico City game will be played at Estadio Banorte and will be one of a league-record nine international games played in 2026.

(Undated) — The NBA regular season resumes tonight following the All-Star break. The day is highlighted by the Knicks playing host to the Pistons in a matchup of two of the Eastern Conference’s top three teams at Madison Square Garden. In other top games, the Warriors host the Celtics, the Suns visit the Spurs, and the Clippers are at home against the Nuggets. Detroit, Boston and New York sit atop the East coming out of the break, while the Thunder, San Antonio and Denver are atop the West.

(Indianapolis, IN) — The WNBA season is right around the corner. The Indiana Fever announced their preseason schedule yesterday. Indiana has just two exhibition games in 2026. The Fever will visit the New York Liberty on April 25th before hosting the Dallas Wings on April 30th.

>>Mavs’ Irving To Sit Out Rest Of Season To Continue ACL Rehab

(Undated) — The Mavericks will not have their nine-time All-Star point guard on the floor this season. Dallas star Kyrie Irving will miss the remainder of the season as he continues to recover from an ACL injury he suffered last March. Irving had surgery just under a year ago to repair a torn left ACL and has not played this season. He is expected to return for the 2026-27 season. Irving will turn 34 next month and has been limited to 128 games since joining the Mavs during the 2022-23 season.

(Sacramento, CA) — The Kings will be without two members of their starting lineup for the rest of the season. ESPN is reporting that Domantas Sabonis and Zach LaVine both underwent season-ending surgeries on Wednesday. Sabonis had surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee and was limited to 19 games this season. LaVine opted for a procedure on a tendon injury in his right hand after playing 39 games.

(Milan) — The U.S. men’s hockey team is headed to the semifinals at the Winter Olympics for the first time in over a decade. Quinn Hughes netted the game-winner just over three minutes into overtime to lift Team USA past Sweden 2-1 in the quarterfinals in Milan. Mika Zibanejad tied the game for the Swedes with just 1:31 remaining in the third period to force OT. Dylan Larkin opened the scoring for the U.S., which will face Slovakia in the semifinals on Friday.

(Pittsburgh, PA) — A hockey icon is hoping he dodged a major bullet at the Winter Olympics. ESPN reports Canada and Pittsburgh Penguins team captain Sidney Crosby will undergo imaging to determine the severity of a lower-body injury he suffered while representing his country. The center appeared to hurt his leg in the second period of Canada’s come-from-behind win against Czechia in the quarterfinals on Wednesday. The 38-year-old left later in the period and didn’t return.

(Milan) — Team USA took home some more medals at the 2026 Winter Games on Wednesday. The Stars and Stripes started the day with Jake Canter taking bronze in the men’s snowboarding slopestyle final. The men’s cross-country skiing team captured silver after finishing second in the free final. Mikaela Shiffrin returned to the top of the podium after winning gold in the women’s slalom. The US now has seven gold and 24 total medals.

(Pacific Palisades, CA) — The PGA Tour season continues this week with another tournament in the Golden State. The Genesis Invitational will kick off Thursday at Riviera Country Club. Last year’s winner Ludvig Åberg will be in the field. He shot 12-under par to beat Maverick McNealy by one stroke. Fellow past champions Hideki Matsuyama, Max Homa and Adam Scott are in the field, as are Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy.
