The North Wayne Community Unit School District #200 Board of Education met Wednesday night at Cisne Middle School. The board approved several items on the consent agenda, including minutes from the January 21st regular meeting, personal leave and dock day requests, and facility use for the Cisne Reunion Board’s upcoming events.
Additional consent items approved included FMLA leave for an employee and the acceptance of resignations from Jade Boyd (paraprofessional), JaLisa Simpson (fourth grade teacher), and Chynna Keyser (paraprofessional), all effective at the end of the current school year. The board also accepted a $500 donation to Cisne FFA from LL Parks Livestock.
In new business, the board approved the payment of bills, set graduation dates for Cisne Middle School (May 8th at 6 p.m.) and Cisne High School (May 9th at 2 p.m.), and accepted a notice to retire from Darla Gindlesberger, effective at the end of the 2028-29 school year. The 2025-26 amended school calendar and the 2026-27 school calendar were both approved, as was the adoption of Press Plus update edition 120.
Following executive session, the board rehired non-tenured teachers Lauren Grace Conard, Collin Klingler, Beth Sessions, Cecily Attebery, Melanie Jordan, Jenna Allison, Bethany Tannahill, Kailee Weber, Darla Gindlesberger, and Jasmine Moore for the 2026-27 school year, granting tenure status to Jenna Allison, Kailee Weber, and Bethany Tannahill. Principals Beth Bowen, Kevin Bowen, and Leslie Riley were also rehired for the 2026-27 school year. In athletic staffing, Nick Howard was hired as Cisne High School Assistant Baseball Coach.
