James R. Easton, 43, of Carmi, formerly of Fairfield, passed away at 5:43am on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN, as a result of a traffic accident.
James was born on April 11, 1982, in Springfield, Massachusetts, to Alan J. Easton and Lisa (Moore) Easton.
James was a mechanic for Valvoline Instant Oil Change in Marion, IL. His family meant the world to him.
Survivors include his mother Lisa Easton of Town Creek, AL, his four daughters Cheyenne (Steven) Robertson of Duquoin, IL, Jessica (Mark) Feldman and Kristina Easton both of Fairfield, and Emily (Noah) Smith of Carmi, IL, his five grandchildren Remington Downen, Niah Stephenson, Scarlett Robertson, Lanie Feldman, and Wrenley Nettleton, two brothers Alan K. Easton of Town Creek, AL, and Jesse (Tara Eaves) Easton of Florence, MS, his sister Karen Roberts of Fort Madison, IA, his sister-in-law Renae Easton of Florence, MS, and his nieces and nephews Kerridwen Roberts-Smith, Keaghan Roberts, Cerena Easton, and Willow Easton.
He was preceded in death by his father Alan J. Easton and his maternal and paternal grandparents and great grandparents.
A visitation will be held from 1pm-3pm on Friday, February 27th, at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield, IL. The family has requested casual dress for those attending. Following the visitation, James’ body will be cremated with no burial at this time. Memorial donations can be made to the family to help with expenses and will be accepted at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.
