The Wayne County and Clay County Soil and Water Conservation Districts are gearing up for their annual spring fish and tree sales, giving local landowners and residents an opportunity to stock ponds and plant new trees this season.
The spring fish sale will be held on Thursday, March 12th at 12:00 noon. Those interested in purchasing grass carp must place their orders by Thursday, February 26th, while the deadline for all other fish orders is Thursday, March 5th.
Fish available this year include Channel Catfish, Largemouth Bass, Hybrid Sunfish, Bluegill, Redear, Black Crappie, Fathead Minnows, and Grass Carp.
In addition, the Soil and Water Conservation Districts are taking orders for their spring tree sale. A variety of evergreens and hardwoods are available, with orders accepted until March 27th or while supplies last. Tree deliveries are scheduled for the week of April 6th.
Available tree varieties include White Pine, Blue Spruce, Norway Spruce, Red Maple, Tulip Poplar, Pecan, Red Oak, and White Oak.
