Illinois Eastern Community Colleges (IECC) will host a series of Student/Parent Information Nights—known as SPIN Nights—next month, designed to help prospective students and their families take the next step toward college enrollment.
Each IECC campus will host its own SPIN Night from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. on the following dates:
Frontier Community College: March 3rd
Olney Central College: March 5th
Wabash Valley College: March 17th
Lincoln Trail College: March 19th
SPIN Night offers a one-stop opportunity for students and parents to explore IECC programs, connect with key staff members, and learn more about the enrollment process. During the events, attendees can explore academic programs, speak with Financial Aid representatives, schedule advising appointments, learn about student clubs and organizations, and discover support services available through each campus’s Learning Commons.
“SPIN Night is about making college planning simple and approachable for both students and their families,” said Carrie Halbert, IECC Director of Student Engagement and Recruitment. “We want them to walk in with questions and leave feeling confident about their next steps.”
Halbert emphasized the convenience of the event, noting that families can gather all the information they need in one setting. “Students can meet advisors, talk through financial aid options, and see the support systems we have in place. It’s an opportunity to see firsthand how IECC helps students succeed from day one,” she said.
Registration for the events is encouraged. Students and parents can scan the QR code featured on promotional materials to select their campus and preferred date.
In addition to SPIN Night activities, Lincoln Trail College will also host an Ag Exploration Night on March 19, providing attendees with the chance to learn more about agricultural programs and career opportunities.
