>>Pritzker Reacts To Trump’s State of the Union Address

(Chicago, IL) — Governor Pritzker is reacting to President Trump’s State of the Union Address. The governor claimed Trump “spewed lies,” saying the President’s speech included “baseless claims, shameless propaganda, and the ramblings of a wannabe dictator outlining his plans to steal American elections.” Pritzker said Illinois will keep standing for the truth and work to hold the Trump administration accountable. Six Illinois Democrats boycotted the address, including U.S. Senator Tammy Duckworth, and U.S. Representatives Mike Quigley, Sean Casten, Delia Ramirez, Jan Schakowsky and Eric Sorensen.

 

>>Jesse Jackson’s Family Invites Five presidents To Services, Including Trump

(Chicago, IL) — The family of Reverend Jesse Jackson is inviting five American presidents to services next week honoring the civil rights icon. The Sun Times reports that includes current President Donald Trump. The U.S. Secret Service has conducted a security sweep at the House of Hope on the South Side, where a “People’s Celebration” will be held March 6th. The Secret Service will also secure locations in Washington, D.C., where the family is planning to hold services next week.

 

>>IDOC Not Revealing Where Sean Grayson Is Serving Prison Sentence

(Peoria Co, IL) — The Illinois Department of Corrections isn’t revealing where former Sangamon County Sheriff’s deputy Sean Grayson is serving his 20-year prison sentence for the killing of Sonya Massey. Grayson was sentenced last month after he was convicted in October of second-degree murder. Authorities say the former deputy shot and killed the unarmed Black woman in July 2024 after she called 9-1-1 over a potential intruder at her Springfield home. IDOC said Grayson has begun his prison term, but won’t confirm his location for safety and security reasons.
