On Tuesday, February 24th at 6:48 p.m., the McLeansboro Fire Department was dispatched to a residential structure fire in the 11000 block of Anderson School Road. The incident quickly escalated as the blaze involved multiple structures and was fueled by windy conditions, causing the fire to spread rapidly from the exterior to the interior of the homes.

Upon arrival, firefighters encountered heavy fire engulfing both structures. Recognizing the severity of the situation, officials immediately requested a MABAS Box Alarm 84-2 to the Full Still Level, bringing in additional resources and personnel. As the fire intensified, the alarm was upgraded, prompting even more assets to respond to the scene.

A total of 42 firefighters battled the blaze for approximately five hours. They were assisted by crews from the Dahlgren Fire Protection District, Wayne City Fire Department, Norris City Fire Protection District, Enfield Fire Department, Eldorado Fire Department, Ewing Northern Fire Protection District, and the Hamilton County Ambulance Service.

Despite the scale and intensity of the fire, there were no injuries reported among residents or firefighters. The Illinois State Fire Marshal has been contacted to investigate the cause of the fire.
