The Wayne County Democratic Party held its meeting on Wednesday, February 18th with members discussing voter outreach efforts leading up to the March primary election, upcoming fundraising, and plans for the midterm cycle.

Party leaders reported that the Get Out The Vote Primary Committee has begun canvassing efforts centered on election judge information, voter registration resources, and early and vote-by-mail guidance. Organizers said the next phase will move to door-to-door “sticky note” canvassing to share information about the Federal K-12 Education Program.

Members also announced that a fundraiser benefiting the FCHS Community Closet is planned for this quarter.

Following the March 17th primary election, the party said its focus will shift toward the midterm election, including support for congressional candidate Julie Fortier.

The next Wayne County Democratic Party meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, March 18th at 6 p.m. at the Wayne County Courthouse.
