McLeansboro Police, working alongside the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department, placed 70-year-old Curtis Patterson behind bars late Friday night after discovering he was wanted on an active warrant from Franklin County.
Authorities report that around 10:49 p.m., officers spotted Patterson driving in McLeansboro. After identifying him and confirming his outstanding warrant, police initiated a traffic stop. Patterson was taken into custody without incident. A subsequent search of his vehicle turned up contraband, leading to additional charges.
Patterson was transported to the White County Jail on the Franklin County warrant. He was also issued citations for Possession of Methamphetamine and Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle.
Records show Patterson was previously sentenced in Hamilton County court to eight years in prison and fined in 2022 on meth-related charges.
Following his arrest on Friday night, Patterson has since been released from jail, pending further court proceedings.
