
The National Weather Service is inviting local residents to become official storm spotters by attending a Skywarn Storm Spotter Training Basic Spotter Course in March.
The class will take place on Thursday, March 19th at 6:00 p.m. CDT at the Frontier Community College, located at 2 Frontier Drive, Fairfield, IL. The course is hosted locally by Jeff Jake, Wayne County EMA, and will be presented by National Weather Service Instructor Andy Lesage.
Participants will learn about different weather phenomena and how to accurately report them. The training session lasts approximately two and a half hours, and all course materials are provided free of charge.
