Area communities and youth are encouraged to attend a special worship event to be held on Sunday, March 29th at 6pm at The Bridge Church, located on IL Hwy 15 west of Fairfield. Webber High School Senior, Nathaniel Marlow will be the featured speaker.
Marlow recently closed out his high school basketball career with a remarkable 3,272 points, earning him the distinction of being the highest scorer in the three-point era and the second-highest scorer in the entire history of Illinois High School Association (IHSA) boys basketball. He finished just 86 points shy of the all-time leader, Chico Vaughn, who set the record with 3,358 points. In the storied history of IHSA boys basketball, only seven players have ever reached the 3,000-point milestone, placing Nathaniel in truly elite company.
But while his scoring prowess is undeniable—capped off by an awe-inspiring final stretch in which he averaged 41.2 points over his last four games (scoring 46, 39, 39, and 41 points, respectively)—those who know Nathaniel say his actions off the court are even more impressive than his achievements on it. Known for his strength of faith and dedication to his teammates and community, Marlow has become a role model for young athletes and students alike.
Webber High’s Trojans finished the season with an impressive 26-7 record, a testament to Marlow’s leadership and the team’s determination.
For those who have watched his journey, Nathaniel Marlow’s legacy is about more than points scored—it’s about the impact one young man can have when he gives his all, both on and off the court.
