One area resident has been sentenced after pleading guilty to criminal sexual assault charges, while another has been found guilty of multiple sexual assault charges following a jury trial.
Media reports say 43 year old Alejandro Maines-Sosa of Salem, IL has been sentenced to 12 years in prison after pleading guilty in Marion County Court earlier this week to criminal sexual assault. He admitted to committing a sex act with girl between the age of 13 and 18 while in a position of trust or supervision. He will be on mandatory supervised release for three years to life after his prison sentence. The incidents reportedly occurred between May 2021 and October 2022.
54 year old Darrell Pool of Sesser, IL has been found guilty on multiple sexual assault charges after a jury trial in Framklin County. Pool was convicted of two counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child and two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse after a three-day trial. The case dates back to 2022. The jury deliberated for nearly two hours earlier this week before returning the guilty verdict on all four counts. He is scheduled to be sentenced in May, and faces a minimum 15 year sentence.
