Two Mt. Vernon, IL men have been sentenced in separate cases.
71 year old Larry Moss was sentenced to ten years in prison for residential arson in Jefferson County Court after he admitted to setting a fire in an apartment complex in the 1100 block of Maple Street in November 2024. After prison, he will have to complete a year of mandatory supervised release. Reports said Moss still has two other counts of hate crime pending against him.
31 year old Jordan Crowder has been sentenced in Jefferson County Court to five years in prison on a petition to revoke his probation for unlawful delivery of a controlled substance and unlawful delivery of meth. The sentences will be served concurrently.
The original charges date back to 2021.
