Delores Van Norman, 81 of McLeansboro, IL went to be with the Lord on March 6, 2026. She was born on September 5, 1944, in Flora, IL to John and Edna Bradley. On October 20,1962 she married Vernon Van Norman who preceded her in death in 2025. Delores was a member of Lick Creek Church.
Delores worked as a secretary in radiology at Porter Memorial Hospital in Valparaiso, IN. a secretary for Grissom Middle School in Portage, IN. as an aide for special needs children at Liberty Elementary School in Chesterton, IN. and a secretary in radiology at Munster Community Hospital in Munster, IN along with being a homemaker. She was a member of the Southern Illinois Homecoming Gospel Choir.
She dedicated her life to serving others in many ways including being a Prayer Chain Coordinator for many years and it was the highlight of her life. Birthdays were very important to her and she made sure everyone had a special celebration.
Those left to cherish wonderful memories include two daughters, Karyn Kaye (David) Dykstra, and Laura Anne Dunkman. Four grandchildren, Katelyn Nicole (Chad) Mendenhall, Henry John Dykstra, Elizabeth Laura (Alex) Barrett, Benjamin Richard Dunkman. Two great grandsons, Gabriel Troy Barrett and Joseph James Barrett and many nieces and nephews.
Delores is proceeded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, Nelson James Bradley and Carl Bradley and one sister Karen Kay Hughes.
Visitation will be held Thursday, March 12th at 2:30 p.m. and a Celebration of Life Service beginning at 3:30 p.m. at Ten Mile Baptist Church in McLeansboro.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Samaritan’s Purse and/or the Ten Mile Baptist Church Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Mission.
