In Southern Illinois, the price for a barrel of locally produced crude oil has hit $83.90. The price is expected to rise even higher due to the ongoing military operations launched by the United States and Israel against Iran. Internationally, crude oil prices hit a high of $120 per barrel before falling. CountryMark was paying $60.02 for a barrel of locally produced crude oil on February 27th, the day before the military operations began. The average price at CountryMark for the month of February was $57.52.

The overseas conflict has also caused local gas prices to rise. On Monday morning gas prices in Fairfield were as high as $3.54 per gallon and had risen to $3.59 in Wayne City. Albion stations were also charging $3.59 with stations in Mt. Vernon charging $3.56 per gallon
