WABASH COUNTY SHERIFF NAMED ILLINOIS SHERIFF’S ASSOCIATION PRESIDENT

Wabash County Sheriff Derek Morgan has been named President of the Illinois Sheriff’s Association. He received the title earlier this month at the 2026 Sheriff’s Winter Conference. Sheriff Morgan is a 1988 graduate of Mount Carmel High School and also earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Administration of Justice from Southern Illinois University. Morgan joined the Wabash County Sheriff’s Department in 2003 and was elected to his first term in office as Sheriff in 2014. Mike Downey, Kankakee County Sheriff was named First Vice President with Champaign County Sheriff Dustin Heuerman named as Second Vice President.
