The Illinois Department of Transportation has announced that a section of Illinois Route 145/Illinois Route 34 in Saline County will be closed for the weekend beginning Friday evening as crews replace a culvert.
According to the Illinois Department of Transportation, the highway will close in both directions at 6 p.m. Friday, March 13, about three miles south of Harrisburg. The closure will impact Illinois Route 145/Illinois Route 34 between Butler Road and Walnut Grove Road.
A detour will route traffic along Illinois Route 45, Interstate 24, and Illinois Route 147 around the work zone.
The closure is expected to remain in place through the weekend, with the roadway scheduled to reopen by 6 a.m. Monday, March 16th, weather permitting.
Drivers traveling in the area should watch for posted detour signs and use caution while traveling near the work zone.
