Attorneys in the first-degree murder case of Megan S. Valentine appeared
via video conference in Edwards County Circuit Court on Tuesday. Special
Prosecutor David Robinson and defense attorney Jessica Koester agreed
to continue the scheduled pretrial hearing from March 25 to June 25. All
pending matters in the case are expected to be addressed at that time.
The hearing, conducted over Zoom, was limited to procedural issues. The
case has not yet been added to the court’s trial docket.
46-year-old Megan S. Valentine remains in custody at the Wayne County
Jail in Fairfield, where she is being held for Edwards County authorities.
She was transferred from the White County Jail in Carmi on November 11,
2025, after a correctional officer was accused of having improper contact
with her.
Valentine is awaiting trial for the November 5, 2024, shooting death of her
husband, Edwards County Resident Judge Michael Valentine.
