The Wayne County Republican Party will hold its county convention on
April 15 at the Wayne County Courthouse. The convention will seat newly
elected precinct committeepersons and select party officers following the
recent primary election. The date is set 30 days after the March primary.
Party members finalized plans for the convention during their March 5
meeting at the courthouse. At the meeting, the group also approved the
treasurer’s report and discussed the recent Lincoln Day Dinner, which
organizers described as a success.
Wayne County Clerk Liz Ann Woodrow reported that, as of last Thursday’s
meeting, 216 voters had cast early ballots and 197 vote-by-mail ballots had
been received for the primary.
