Matas Buzelis poured in 29 points in the victory, while Josh Giddey finished with 16 points, 13 assists, and 15 rebounds. Chicago is in 12th place in the Eastern Conference at 28-and-40. Scott Kingery homered in the victory, while Cade Horton struck out ten and allowed one run on three hits in five innings. The Northsiders improved to 10-and-13 in Cactus League action. Shota Imanaga starts for the Cubs against the Angels tonight.

Anthony Kay takes the mound for Chicago against the A’s today.

Snuggerud Earns Weekly Award

(St. Louis, MO) — Jimmy Snuggerud is earning recognition for his performances last week. The Blues forward was named the NHL’s Third Star of the Week yesterday. Snuggerud had three goals and three assists in four games for the Blues last week. He helped St. Louis go 2-1-and-1 during the week. The Blues rookie has 35 points in 55 games this season.

Blues Prepare For Flames

(Calgary, AB) — The St. Louis Blues are gearing up for their game against the Calgary Flames at Scotiabank Saddledome tomorrow. The Blues are coming off a 3-2 loss to the Winnipeg Jets on the road on Sunday. St. Louis is in seventh place in the Central Division with 64 points. Tomorrow night’s game begins at 8:30PM.

Blackhawks Host Wild

(Chicago, IL) — The Chicago Blackhawks look to get back in the win column when they host the Minnesota Wild at United Center tonight. The Hawks are coming off a 4-0 loss to the Vegas Golden Knights on the road on Saturday. Chicago is in last place in the Central Division with 61 points. Tonight’s game starts at 6:30PM. In other team news, the Blackhawks signed Sacha Boisvert to a three-year, entry-level deal yesterday.

(Dayton, OH) — March Madness officially begins from Dayton on Tuesday. The NCAA Tournament tips off with a pair of First Four matchups. UMBC and Howard battle for the 16th-seed in the South Region. The winner will play Number-1 Florida in the First Round. The nightcap features a heavyweight matchup between Texas and NC State for the 11th-seed in the West. Sixth-ranked BYU awaits the victor of that contest. Prairie View A-and-M squares off against Lehigh and Miami of Ohio faces SMU on Wednesday to wrap up the First Four.

(Tuscaloosa, AL) — One member of the Crimson Tide men’s basketball team is no longer with the squad. The University of Alabama announced Monday that guard Aden Holloway has been removed from campus in the wake of his drug arrest. Holloway will remain off the team until he goes through the school’s investigation process. Tuscaloosa County police arrested Holloway Monday morning after he was found with more than a pound of marijuana, paraphernalia and cash. The Crimson Tide face Hofstra in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Friday.

(Miami, FL) — The World Baseball Classic final is set. Team USA will battle Venezuela in the championship game from Miami on Tuesday. The Stars and Stripes advanced after edging the Dominican Republic 2-1 in the Semifinal Round. America is seeking its second-ever title after winning the tournament in 2017. Venezuela moved on after taking down Italy 4-2 in the other semifinal matchup. The Venezuelans are trying to claim the Classic for the first time in their history.

(Philadelphia, PA) — The Phillies are dealing with a lengthy suspension. MLB officials announced on Monday that Johan Rojas has been banned 80 games for a positive PED test. The outfielder filed a grievance through the players’ association last month after violating the league’s policy on performance-enhancing substances. The outfielder can make his season debut on June 25th, but is ineligible for postseason play.

(Undated) — A former first round quarterback is heading to another new destination. According to ESPN, the Jets are trading Justin Fields to the Kansas City Chiefs for a sixth round pick in the 2027 NFL Draft. The Jets will be paying seven-million-dollars of Fields’ 10-million-dollar guaranteed salary for next season. Fields was selected with the 11th overall pick by Chicago in 2021, and has also spent time with Pittsburgh. Chiefs’ starting quarterback Patrick Mahomes is rehabbing from a torn ACL.

(Pittsburgh, PA) — A veteran cornerback is hanging up his cleats for good. Darius Slay announced his retirement on Monday. The 35-year-old appeared in 10 games for the Steelers last season and helped contribute to a Super Bowl 59 win with the Eagles the year before. Slay finished his 13-year career with 28 interceptions after he was taken by the Lions in the second round of the 2013 draft.

>>NBA Board Could Vote Next Week On Expansion Teams

(Seattle, WA) — The NBA’s Board of Governors could vote next week on whether to consider expansion by two teams. It’s expected they could be Seattle and Las Vegas, but that vote would happen later. 23 of 30 NBA owners would have to approve the vote for the process to move forward. The league would identify potential owners and then another vote would be held to determine whether expansion would happen. If it does, the teams would start in the 2028 season.

(Inglewood, CA) — The Spurs held off a comeback attempt by the Clippers to secure a 119-115 road victory. Stephon Castle led the way for San Antonio, putting up 23 points, seven rebounds and eight assists. Victor Wembanyama added a double-double of 21 points and 13 rebounds and Devin Vassell put up 20 points of his own. The Spurs have won seven of their last eight games to improve to 50-and-18 this season. Darius Garland had 25 points and 10 assists for LA

(Houston, TX) — Luka Doncic [[ don-chitch ]] and the Los Angeles Lakers took down the Houston Rockets 100-92 in a Western Conference clash in Space City. Doncic scored a game-high 36 points to lead LA to its sixth straight victory. LeBron James chipped in 18 points as the Lakers improved to 43-and-25. Jabari Smith Jr. paced Houston with 22 points in the losing effort. The Rockets have now split their last 10 games to sit at 41-and-26.
