The Fairfield Grade School District Board of Education convened Monday night to review district operations, approve contracts, and address staffing for the upcoming fiscal year. Superintendent Kristina Gardner provided a financial update, noting the district has received 75% of its anticipated revenue and expended 67% of its FY26 budget to date. The food service program maintains a healthy balance of $256,578.48.
In transportation, the board reviewed recent expenses, including $1,102.26 for tires, mounting, and disposal on Bus #3, $73.62 for an oil and filter change on Bus #5, and $131.00 for a state inspection and brake inspection on Bus #8. The district is currently assisting three prospective bus drivers as they work toward obtaining their licenses. Facilities updates included the receipt of two roof repair bids. The board approved the bid from D7 Roofing for $97,826.
Looking ahead, summer registration is scheduled for July 14, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The board also approved a three-year agreement for a new math curriculum and formally adopted the district’s parent engagement policy. Following a closed session, the board accepted the resignations of paraprofessionals Elizabeth Smith and Allison Green.
The board addressed staffing for the next school year, re-employing various non-tenure certified staff:
Gracie Cantrell, Jodi Robinson, and Justin Pavot were placed on second-year probationary status for FY27.
