The Southeastern Illinois Agency on Aging (SEIAOA) will kick off a new Stress-Busting Program for family caregivers every Tuesday, beginning March 24th. The nine-week program starts at 10:30 a.m. and is designed to provide crucial support and resources for those caring for loved ones with dementia or chronic illnesses.

This evidence-based, multi-component initiative aims to help family caregivers manage stress and improve their quality of life. Throughout the program, participants will learn about stress and its effects, practice effective stress management techniques, and develop problem-solving skills.

Caregivers will also gain insight into the impact of long-term stress, discover healthy coping strategies, and take part in positive thinking and relaxation activities. The program’s goal is to empower caregivers with tools and support to better manage their daily challenges.

Organizers encourage anyone caring for a loved one to join, promising a welcoming environment and valuable resources to help caregivers “descalate your stress levels.” For more information or to register, contact Donna Williams at 618-445-2017.
