FCHS BOARD OF EDUCATION APPROVES BUS PURCHASE, RENEWALS, AND STAFFING CHANGES AT MARCH MEETING

The Fairfield Community High School (FCHS) Board of Education held its regular meeting on Thursday, March 19th addressing a range of business items, including major renewals, staffing, and facility improvements. Key action items include:

The Board approved the consent agenda with a single nay vote from Matt Rush.

Renewal of IHSA membership for the 2026-2027 school year was approved.

Catastrophic insurance coverage through Gallagher Student Health & Risk was renewed for the upcoming year.

The Board approved an Intergovernmental Agreement with the Ohio and Wabash Regional Vocational System.

Approval was given to purchase a 2026 65-passenger Saf-T-Liner bus with an accessibility lift for $172,951 for fiscal year 2027.

Bradford Systems’ bid for storage solutions in the Bank, Choir, and Multipurpose Rooms was accepted.

The Board voted to begin the bidding process for classroom renovations via RFP.

Rick White was re-hired as a long-term substitute.

First-year teachers Jalysse Kinney and Jennifer York, second-year teachers Kristi Anderson, Peyton Bates, Roberta Biggs, Hayden McDuffee, Jay Simpson, and Mariah Vaughan, and third-year teachers Jon Lafikes and Chasity Suddarth were all re-hired.

All non-certified employees were re-hired and granted a 4% raise for the 2026-2027 school year.

Georgiana Fletcher was hired as a substitute bus driver.

Sydnee Bates and Peyton Bates were employed as volunteer softball and baseball coaches, respectively.

Scott Foster was accepted as Girls Head Tennis Coach.

Tiffany Lyons was re-hired as principal on a new three-year contract.

The Student Focus for the evening highlighted Mrs. Kristi Anderson, Addie Lafikes, and Allison Breuer with the National Honor Society.
