CARDINAL HEALTH ISSUES NATIONWIDE RECALL OF ANTISEPTIC WIPES OVER ‘LIFE-THREATENING’ BACTERIAL CONTAMINATION

Cardinal Health has announced a nationwide recall of its antiseptic wipes due to concerns about “life-threatening” bacterial contamination.

These wipes, commonly used to clean and disinfect skin before injections or blood draws, are the subject of a recall after health officials found a “reasonable probability” that contaminated wipes could cause infections that may spread throughout the body. Nearly 400 lots of the product are affected, having been distributed across the United States, Puerto Rico, and Japan between September 2025 and February 2026.

At this time, it is unclear whether any infections, hospitalizations, or deaths are linked to the recalled wipes. However, Cardinal Health is urging consumers to check their first aid supplies immediately and dispose of any recalled wipes for safety.
