A Jefferson County man has been found guilty in the death of his wife following a trial that concluded with a swift verdict last Friday. After three hours of deliberation, a jury convicted 52-year-old John Finney on multiple counts of murder.
Prosecutors detailed that Amy Jo Finney was discovered shot inside a vehicle that John Finney was driving during a traffic stop in September 2025. Investigators believe the fatal shooting actually took place a day earlier inside the couple’s home.
The trial lasted several days, during which the defense called no witnesses and John Finney chose not to testify in his own defense.
Sentencing for Finney is scheduled for April 28th.
