On Tuesday, Fairfield hosted Cisne, Patoka, and Christopher at the Fairfield Co-ed Open Meet at the Trainyard Track. On the Boys side, Fairfield took 1st Place with Cisne finishing 2nd. Notable performances for the Mules were: Michael Barner-1st 100m and 1st in Long Jump; Skylar Bladel – 1st 800m; Ashton King – 1st 1600m; Braxton Galiher – 1st 110m Hurdles; Jayden Wilson – 1st Shot Put; Alex Basnett – 1st Discus; Cayson Webb – 1st High Jump; Morgan Spina – 1st Triple Jump; and the 4x200m Relay and 4x400m Relay teams – 1st.
For Cisne, Brody Bowles finished 1st in 200m and 1st in 400m
On the Girls side, Fairfield took 1st Place with Cisne finishing 3rd. The Cardinals three-hit the Mets in a 3-0 win from St. Louis. Andre Pallante gave up all three base-knocks over five innings as the bullpen allowed just one walk over the final four frames. Ramon Urias went deep, while JJ Wetherholt tallied a pair of RBI’s. The Cardinals improved to 3-and-2. They send Matthew Liberatore to the mound against the Mets this afternoon. The St. Louis Cardinals are dealing with some early-season injuries. The team placed right-handed reliever Matt Pushard on the 15-day injured list yesterday. Pushard is dealing with right knee patellar tendinitis. The 28-year-old made his MLB debut on Sunday and allowed three runs in one inning. Gordon Graceffo was recalled from Memphis to take Pushard’s spot on the roster.

Erick Fedde was charged with the loss after allowing three earned runs and one unearned run on six hits in five innings. The Sox dropped to 1-and-4. (Jacksonville, FL) — The Jaguars have a temporary home for the 2027 season. Officials announced on Tuesday that the team will play its home games at the Camping World Stadium in Orlando. The 65-thousand seat arena hosted six Pro Bowl games, including the one in 2025. Jacksonville’s EverBank Stadium is slated to finish almost one-and-a-half-billion dollars in renovations after next season.

ESPN reports Stoudemire and Rivers will be joined by Candace Parker and Elena Delle Donne. Stoudemire was the first player ever drafted out of high school to win Rookie of the Year and rose to stardom as part of the Seven Seconds or Less Phoenix Suns. Rivers was named one of the top 15 coaches in NBA history during the league’s 75th anniversary and led the Boston Celtics to the 2008 title. Parker won three WNBA championships in her career along with two MVP awards while Delle Donne was named MVP twice and won one NBA championship.

Austin Reaves chipped in 19 points as the Lakers notched their fourth straight win and improved to 50-and-26. Jarrett Allen paced Cleveland with 18 points in the losing effort. The Cavs had a two-game winning streak snapped to fall to 47-and-29.

(Houston, TX) — The Rockets notched their third straight win with a 111-94 takedown of the New York Knicks in Houston. Karl-Anthony Towns paced New York with 22 points in the losing effort. The Knicks have lost three in-a-row to drop to 48-and-28.

Dallas has extended the contract of GM Jim Nill for two years ahead of the team’s fifth straight appearance in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Nill has been in his current role since 2013 and his contract was set to expire at the end of the season. The 67-year-old is now signed with the team through the 2027-28 season. He has been selected as the NHL’s top GM each of the past three seasons by a panel that includes all of the league’s general managers.

(West Palm Beach, FL) — Tiger Woods says he is “stepping away for a period of time” to seek treatment and focus on his health following last Friday’s rollover crash in Florida. Woods released a statement on his X account saying he was committed to taking the time needed to return in a “healthier, stronger, and more focused place, both personally and professionally.” The golf icon pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor DUI charges related to the crash Tuesday. Woods has been charged with driving under the influence with property damage and refusal to submit to a lawful test. He waived his arraignment hearing, which was scheduled for April 23rd. Woods was arrested after the crash near his home on Jupiter Island and released hours later.
