The Illinois Petroleum Resources Board (IPRB) has announced that several spots are still available for its annual Illinois Math and Science Summer Teachers Program, scheduled for June 23rd through 26th in Mt. Vernon.
This unique professional development opportunity is open to Illinois grade 3 through 12 math and science teachers. Participants who complete the program will earn 37½ professional development hours.
Teachers will receive a grade-specific classroom activity kit, designed to help them teach lessons from a printed Illinois State Board of Education-approved curriculum. The program also offers valuable real-world insight into the Illinois oil production industry, including a field trip to an operational oil production site and instruction from a variety of industry professionals.
