The City of Fairfield Water Department announced that the boil water order issued Thursday remains in effect for residents and businesses in the area from the corner of South 1st and Broadway Streets south to 1630 S. 1st Street. The order applies to both the east and west sides of South 1st Street within this zone.
The precautionary measure was implemented following repairs to local water lines. Until further notice, all affected residents and businesses are advised to boil water before using it for drinking, food preparation, making ice, or any other form of human consumption.
Officials will notify the public once the boil order has been lifted.
