Wayne County residents are advised that the BOARD OF REVIEW will convene from now to May 4th to accept complaints regarding property valuations. The review sessions will be held Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., at the Wayne County Courthouse, located at 301 E Main St, Suite 101, Fairfield.
Complaint forms can be obtained from the Chief County Assessment Office on the first floor of the Courthouse. Taxpayers must fully complete the forms, including their own estimate of property value, and should attach any supporting documentation. Each parcel under complaint requires a separate form, which must be signed and submitted to the Assessment Office within the 30-day filing window. Complaints postmarked by May 4th will be accepted.
If necessary, formal hearings with the Board of Review will be scheduled following the initial filing period. The Board of Review’s authority is limited to property assessments and does not extend to taxes. All actions by the Board will affect 2025 assessments, impacting taxes payable in 2026.
