The National Weather Service says a fresh wave of cooler air is expected to move in today and persist through Tuesday, keeping daytime highs seasonally cool for the first half of the week. Temperatures will mainly range from the upper 50s to low 60s.
By Wednesday, conditions will begin to moderate as high pressure shifts eastward and warmer, southerly winds return to the Ohio Valley and Mid-Mississippi River Valley. Highs will climb into the 70s for the latter part of the week, bringing seasonally mild weather. Overnight lows will also rise into the 50s with this warming trend.
Small chances for rain will return by Friday as a warmer and more humid airmass settles in. Forecasters will continue to monitor the potential for scattered showers and thunderstorms toward the end of the week.
