Jurors who had been summoned for the trial are no longer required to appear. The trial has now been rescheduled for July 6th with pre-trial conferences set for May 11th and June 8th
.
Armstrong was arrested by Mt. Carmel Police in May 2022 on a Wabash County warrant following an investigation into alleged sexual abuse of a child dating back to 2014 and 2015. He was taken into custody at the courthouse on an unrelated matter and initially held on a $50,000 cash bond, which was later reduced to $1,000. Armstrong subsequently posted bond.
He faces multiple Class 1 and Class 2 felony charges and is represented by Public Defender William Easton. The case has experienced several delays, with the trial originally set to begin in January 2023.
