Food safety officials are urging the public not to consume certain frozen chicken nuggets after laboratory tests detected dangerous levels of lead.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) issued a public health alert specifically for dinosaur-shaped, ready-to-eat chicken nuggets sold under the Great Value brand at Walmart. While a formal recall has not been issued, as the affected nuggets are no longer available for sale, officials warn that some may still remain in consumers’ freezers.

The alert covers 29-ounce bags of “Great Value Fully Cooked Dino Shaped Chicken Breast Nuggets” with a best if used by date of February 10th, 2027. The USDA reports that these nuggets were produced on February 10th and distributed to Walmart stores nationwide.

Consumers are advised to check their freezers and discard any affected products to avoid potential health risks.
