Marion William “Bill” Edwards, 83, of McLeansboro, IL, passed away April 5th, 2026 in Holiday, FL. He was born on December 21, 1942 in Hillview, IL to John & Helen Edwards.
Bill attended McLeansboro High School for two years and then transferred to Eldorado High School where he graduated with the Class of 1960. He worked for B&W in Mt Vernon, IN for many years, and later became an Electrical Systems Analysis Specialist for other companies. Bill loved hunting, fishing, and playing golf.
He is survived by his daughter: Teresa & Mike Burger of LaSalle, IL and his son: Marion William “BJ” Jr. & Kathy Edwards of Holiday, FL; his stepdaughter: Rebecca J. Vineyard of McLeansboro; 6 grandchildren: Daniel French, Renee French, Sebastian Edwards, Tyler Brescia, Richie Brescia and Jake Burger; 7 great grandchildren: Gage, Chase and Wessin Southall, Ashlynn Kinkade, and Isaiah, Arlo and Ember French; his sister: Carmen Edwards of Floyd, VA; and his aunt: Rose Stauffer of Salem, IL.
He was preceded in death by his wife Peggy on June 30, 2024, and by his parents John and Helen Edwards of McLeansboro, IL.
In accordance with Bill’s wishes, his body was donated to science for Parkinson’s research and a celebration of life will be determined at a later date.
