SEVERAL AREA RESIDENTS ENTER GUILTY PLEAS WAYNE COUNTY CIRCUIT COURT THURSDAY

Several guilty pleas were handed down in Wayne County Circuit Court Thursday by Judge, Matt Vaughn.

Charles Newton, 31, of Golden Gate, pled guilty to Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine. Newton was placed on 24 months probation, ordered to pay court costs, and required to complete 30 hours of community service. He received credit for five days served in the Wayne County Jail. As part of a plea agreement, one case against him was dismissed.

Dewey Desch Jr, 33, of Cisne, pled guilty to Cruel Treatment of an Animal, a Class A misdemeanor. Desch was sentenced to two years of conditional discharge and ordered to pay court costs.

Christina Kennedy, 47, of Sims, pled guilty to Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine. She was placed on 24 months probation, assessed court costs, and required to perform 30 hours of public service work. Kennedy also received credit for five days served in the Wayne County Jail.

Heather Tanner, 30, of Fairfield, pled guilty to Retail Theft. Tanner was sentenced to 24 months probation, ordered to pay court costs, and required to pay $28.26 in restitution to Walmart. She received a 90-day “stayed” jail sentence, which will be imposed if she violates her probation, and was ordered not to enter any Walmart store.

Cynthia Solomon, 37, of Wayne City, pled guilty to Endangering the Life or Health of a Child, a Class A misdemeanor. Solomon was sentenced to one year probation, ordered to pay court costs, given credit for three days time served in the Wayne County Jail, and required to undergo a psychological assessment. Three additional counts in her case were dismissed per a plea agreement.

Megan Boatner, 29, of Wayne City, pled guilty to Theft. Boatner was sentenced to one year probation and ordered to pay court costs. One count in her case was dismissed as part of a plea agreement.
