A fatal two-vehicle crash involving a commercial vehicle occurred Friday morning along Illinois 13 in Saline County, leaving one person dead.
According to Illinois State Police Troop 10, the collision took place at approximately 10:09 a.m. at the intersection of IL-13 and Carrier Mills Road. Preliminary reports indicate the crash involved a commercial vehicle and a passenger vehicle. One individual was transported to a nearby hospital, where they were later pronounced dead.
The roadway was closed for several hours as emergency crews responded and investigators examined the scene. Illinois 13 was reopened to traffic around 2:31 p.m.
State police report that the crash remains under investigation. No further information has been released at this time.
