David Bernard Smith, 64, of Broughton, IL passed away at his home on Thursday, April 16, 2026. He was born in McLeansboro on January 14, 1962 to Billy Dean & Frances Ann (Allen) Smith.
David worked in construction for the Laborer’s Local #561 in Evansville, IN and retired after 30 years. He loved riding motorcycles, loved his family, and loved spending time with his granddaughters. He was a creative designer and fabricator who could build anything that he thought of.
He is survived by his son: David Smith, and wife Katie, of Wadesville, IN; granddaughters: Laney Noel Smith and Adley Kayann Smith of Wadesville, IN, former spouse and friend: Charlotte Morphis of Mt. Vernon, IL, and his loving dog: Dierks.
David was preceded in death by his parents: Bill and Frances Smith and his grandparents: Ida and Marion Allen.
In accordance with his wishes, his body will be cremated and a private burial of ashes will be held at a later date.
