
The Edwards County FFA Poultry Team has had a busy and successful season, participating in multiple events across the region.
On February 17th, the team competed in the Section 23 Poultry Career Development Event at North Clay High School, where members graded eggs, judged chicken classes, graded carcasses, and completed a knowledge test. The team, consisting of Parker Biggs, Emily Spray, Kayden Alexander, Cheyenne Duncan, Bristol Duncan, Josie Shelby, Eli Garrett, and Aleah Carlson, placed fifth overall. Individual honors went to Parker Biggs (12th) and Emily Spray (14th).
On March 7th, Bristol Duncan, Eli Garrett, and Kayden Alexander represented Edwards County at the State Poultry CDE held at the University of Illinois, placing 24th overall against teams from across the state.
Most recently, on April 15th, the team of Parker Biggs, Bristol Duncan, Eli Garrett, and Kayden Alexander competed at the Murray State Field Day in Kentucky, earning an impressive sixth place finish.
