FREE ELECTRONIC WASTE RECYCLING EVENT IN FAIRFIELD ON MAY 6TH & 7TH

Wayne County residents will have a great opportunity to safely dispose of old electronics at a Free Electronic Waste Recycling Event on Wednesday, May 6th and Thursday, May 7th from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The event will be held at the former Wayne County Recycling Center, located at 501 SW 10th Street, Fairfield and directly SOUTH of the Fairfield Police Department off of Leininger Road.

All Wayne County residents are invited to participate and recycle a wide range of electronic items including computers, monitors, speakers, phones, televisions, printers, keyboards, mice, fax machines, and more. The event will also accept miscellaneous wiring, hard drives, routers, modems, DVD players, VCRs, zip drives, satellite receivers, and many other items.

Please note:

Only electronic waste will be accepted.

No household appliances, or hazardous materials will be allowed.

Per Illinois law, this event is for consumer electronics recycling only.

The recycling day is organized by the Wayne County Health Department. For more information, residents are encouraged to contact the department directly. Don’t miss this chance to responsibly recycle your old electronics and help keep Wayne County clean.
