Firefighters were called to a tank battery fire on White County Road 1975 N., near Crossville, Monday morning. The blaze broke out shortly after a strong thunderstorm with frequent lightning struck the region around 8 a.m., and authorities believe lightning may have ignited the facility.
The Crossville Fire Department responded to the scene shortly after 9 a.m. and quickly requested assistance from the Carmi Fire Department. Carmi firefighters arrived with high expansion foam to help bring the fire under control.
No injuries were reported in connection with the incident.
