Emergency crews responded to a water rescue Wednesday morning in the Wynoose Bottoms area north of Mount Erie
Just after 9 a.m., the Cisne Fire Department was dispatched to north of County Highway 3 north of Mt. Erie for a report of a vehicle stuck in backwater. Due to conditions at the scene, firefighters requested mutual aid from the Fairfield Rural Fire Department for a boat to assist with the water rescue.
A Fairfield Rural Fire Department official said the location of the incident was further north along Wynoose Road, closer to the Wayne–Richland County line. That prompted additional assistance from the Noble Fire Department.
The driver of the vehicle was safely rescued. No injuries were reported.
