Alec Lee Tennyson, 29, of McLeansboro, IL passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2026 in Fairfield, IL. Alec was born on March 7, 1997 in St. Louis, MO to Bob & Lisa (Milner) Tennyson. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for the International Union of Operating Engineers.
Alec was a Baptist by faith. He lived out that faith in the way he loved people deeply and cared about them. He was always there if you needed a listening ear. Alec grew up enjoying hunting with his beloved dad and sister and three brothers, farming, going on mission trips, attending Cardinal ballgames and giving his opinions on the club. He loved gatherings and being with the people he loved. Alec enjoyed playing softball on the weekends and made many, many friends over the years on the softball field. To know Alec was to love him.
Alec is survived by his mother Lisa Tennyson, his sister April Navin & husband C.V. Navin, his 3 brothers: Austen Tennyson, Alijah Tennyson, and Anthony Tennyson, his grandmother Janice Milner and his grandmother Rosalie Tennyson.
He was preceded in death by his father Bob Tennyson, his grandfather Donnie Milner, and his grandfather Homer Tennyson.
Funeral services for Alec Lee Tennyson will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 6, 2026 at Young Funeral Home in Wayne City, IL with Pastor Ben Jones officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 5, 2026 at Young Funeral Home. Interment will follow the funeral service at Johnsonville Cemetery in Johnsonville, IL.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to assist with Alec’s funeral & medical expenses, and should be written to “Alec Tennyson Memorial” and will be accepted at Young Funeral Home in Wayne City.
