The Fairfield Community High School Show Choir enjoyed a successful weekend trip to Chicago, highlighted by earning first place in the Show Choir division and being named Best Choir of the Day.
The trip began Friday with a unique performance at the top of Willis Tower Skydeck on the 103rd floor. Students later enjoyed dinner at Giordano’s before attending a performance of The Great Gatsby at the Cadillac Palace Theatre.
On Saturday morning, the group participated in the Music in the Parks adjudication event at Warren Township High School in Gurnee. Following the competition, students spent the afternoon at Six Flags Great America.
Later that evening, the choir attended the awards ceremony at the Wilderness Theater, where they received their top honors. The group also performed alongside Taylor Iman, a Chicago-based pop and soul artist known for performing with The Jacksons and making appearances on television programs including Chicago Fire outside the venue on the sidewalk.
School officials praised the students for their performances and representation, noting the trip provided both competitive success and memorable experiences.
