HIGH SCHOOL BOYS TRACK:
JARED MORRIS INVITATIONAL AT NASHVILLE:
The FCHS Mules Boys Track team finished 3rd overall at the Jared Morris Invitational at Nashville on Monday. The Mules 4x800m Relay team of Ashton King, Treyton Lewis, Kanyen Lingafelter, and Skylar Bladel finished 1st.

 

HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS TRACK:
LADY EAGLE INVITATIONAL AT NEWTON:
The FCHS Lady Mules Track team finished 3rd overall at the Lady Eagle Invitational at Newton on Monday. The Lady Mules’ Mahogany Langford finished 1st in the Shot Put and 1st in the Discus.Langford threw a state qualifying throw in shot 35’5.25. But more impressively, she threw a 33 foot personal record in the discus with a throw of 106’3. Remi Taylor finished 3rd in the Pole Vault and set a new school record with a height of 9 feet 1 inch.  Also, Jensyn Robbins broke the school triple jump record with a jump of 33’ 8.75”. The previous record was held by Hannah Shelton in 2018.

The Chicago White Sox held the Los Angeles Angels to five hits during a 6-0 win at Angel Stadium. Davis Martin struck out ten in seven scoreless inning to earn his fifth win of the year, while Munetaka Murakami and Miguel Vargas both homered in the victory. The Southsiders have won six of seven and are in third place in the AL Central at 17-and-18. They send Erick Fedde to the mound against the Angels tonight. In other team news, the Sox signed Randal Grichuk to a one-year deal yesterday.

The St. Louis Cardinals opened up their series against the Milwaukee Brewers with a 6-3 win from Busch Stadium. Ivan Herrera broke the game open with a three-run double in the bottom of the fourth. JJ Wetherholt drove in a pair of runs in the victory, while Kyle Leahy earned his fourth win after allowing one run on six hits in five-and-a-third innings. The Cardinals are in second place in the NL Central at 21-and-14. Andre Pallante starts for St. Louis against Milwaukee tonight.

The Cubs walked-off the Reds 5-4 in their series opener from Wrigley Field. Michael Conforto smashed a pinch hit, solo homer to end the game. Nico Hoerner lifted a sacrifice fly to the tie things up earlier in the frame as Chicago has won six straight. The Northsiders are in first place in the NL Central at 23-and-12. They send Jameson Taillon to the mound against Cincinnati tonight.

(St. Louis, MO) — Alec Burleson is earning recognition from the MLB. The Cardinals first baseman was named the National League Player of the Week yesterday. Burleson hit .407 with two home runs and 11 RBI’s for St. Louis last week. He helped the Cardinals go 6-and-1 during the week. Burleson is hitting .269 with five home runs and 28 RBI’s this season.

>>Knicks, Wolves Secure Game One Wins In Conference Semis

(Undated) — Two teams secured Game One wins to kick off the conference semifinal round of the NBA playoffs. In the East, the Knicks destroyed the 76ers 137-98 behind Jalen Brunson’s 35 points. Out West, the Timberwolves held-off the Spurs 104-102 after Anthony Edwards scored 18 points in his return from injury. A pair of other teams begin the conference semis on Tuesday. Donovan Mitchell and the Cavaliers visit Cade Cunningham’s Pistons out East while the West features a showdown between LeBron’s Lakers and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s Thunder from Oklahoma City.

>>Mavericks Hire Masai Ujiri As President

(Undated) — The Mavericks are making a major addition to their front office. Dallas is hiring Masai Ujiri [[ muh-SIGH you-JEER-ee ]] as their team president and alternate governor. Ujiri has a 15-year career as a lead basketball executive in the NBA that is highlighted by putting together the Toronto Raptors’ 2018-19 championship team. He was also the winner of the league’s Executive of the Year award in 2012-13 while with the Denver Nuggets. The 55-year-old did not work in the NBA this season after Toronto parted ways with him following the draft last summer.

>>Magic Won’t Dismantle Roster Following HC Firing

(Orlando, FL) — The Magic won’t dismantle their roster. That’s according to team president Jeff Weltman, who told the media on Monday they aren’t interested in “tearing” things down after head coach Jamahl Mosley got fired earlier in the day. The news comes after Orlando blew a 3-1 series lead against top-seeded Detroit in the opening round of the NBA postseason. The Magic made the East playoffs in three straight seasons under Mosley.

>>Bulls Hire VP Of Basketball Operations

(Chicago, IL) — The Chicago Bulls have found their new roster-builder. The team hired Bryson Graham to be its executive vice president of basketball operations yesterday. Graham was in the Pelicans organization from 2010-25, and he was the senior vice president of basketball operations for the Atlanta Hawks this season. With Graham locked down, the Bulls will now turn their attention to their vacant head coach position.

>>Stefon Diggs Assault Trial Underway

(Dedham, MA) — The trial of former New England Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs is now in progress in Dedham, Massachusetts. Prosecutors allege Diggs attacked his personal chef, Mila Adams, during an argument in December 2025. Adams testified Monday that Diggs struck her and attempted to choke her during the incident, which she claims was connected to money she was owed. Diggs has pleaded not guilty and denies the allegations. His defense team contends that Adams’s account contains inconsistencies and says there is no physical evidence to back the claims. The trial is expected to continue for several days, with multiple witnesses scheduled to testify.

>>Report: Colts Backup QB Reports To Workouts

(Indianapolis, IN) — A former first rounder is making an appearance with the Colts. According to ESPN, backup quarterback Anthony Richardson Sr. reported Monday for voluntary offseason workouts after staying home the past two weeks. Richardson has requested a trade, but the Colts have not been able to find a willing team to move him to. Indy declined his fifth-year option last week, which will make him a free agent following this season.

>>Hurricanes Stay Perfect; Golden Knights Top Ducks To Start Round Two

(Undated) — The Hurricanes are still undefeated through six games in the Stanley Cup playoffs. The Canes rallied for a victory in overtime of Game Two against the Flyers to take a 2-0 series lead. Philadelphia will be looking to bounce back when it hosts Carolina for Game Three on Thursday. In the West, the Golden Knights outlasted the Ducks to take a 1-0 lead in their best of seven series. Vegas hosts Anaheim for Game Two on Wednesday. The second round continues on Tuesday with the Avalanche looking to take a 2-0 lead in their series against the Wild.

>>NHL Draft Lottery Starts On Tuesday

(Secaucus, NJ) — The NHL draft lottery is here. Some of the worst teams in the league are hoping to land the Number-1 selection when commissioner Gary Bettman and league officials draw ping pong balls on Tuesday to determine pick order. The Canucks have the best odds at landing the top spot while the Blackhawks, Rangers, Flames and Maple Leafs round out the top-five. Canada-born and Penn State forward Gavin McKenna is the consensus Number-1 overall pick.

>>Tigers P Skubal To Undergo Elbow Surgery

(Undated) — Two-time defending American League Cy Young winner Tarik Skubal will undergo surgery to remove loose bodies from his left elbow. Tigers manager AJ Hinch announced the news on Monday. Hinch said the procedure is “easy,” but provided no timetable for the 29-year-old’s return. In seven starts this season, Skubal is 3-and-2 with a 2.70 ERA.

(Indianapolis, IN) — The Fever tip off the regular season this weekend. Indiana is hosting the Dallas Wings on Saturday at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. The Fever finished last season 24-and-20 before losing in the WNBA semifinals.

(Chicago, IL) — The Chicago Sky are bolstering their roster. The team signed Natasha Cloud to a one-year deal worth 555-thousand dollars yesterday. Cloud spent last season with the New York Liberty. She averaged ten-point-one points and five-point-one assists in 41 appearances last year. The Sky waive Hailey Van Lith in a corresponding move.

>>Liberty To Start Season Without Sabrina Ionescu

(Brooklyn, NY) — The Liberty are going to be without one of their top players to start the year. The team said Monday that guard Sabrina Ionescu will be reevaluated in two weeks after rolling her left ankle in New York’s preseason finale. She was seen in a walking boot after the game. An MRI revealed no major injury to the foot and ankle, but she is going to miss Friday’s season opener against the Connecticut Sun.
