The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office is recognizing National Correctional Officers Week by honoring the service and dedication of correctional officers.
In a statement, Sheriff Chris Otey thanked both past and present correctional officers for their commitment and professionalism.
Officials highlighted the important and often challenging role correctional officers play in maintaining safety within the jail system and the community. The sheriff’s office also extended appreciation to correctional officers working across the country.
Residents are encouraged to take time to thank correctional officers during the week in recognition of their service.
